Reason to Smile Blog Hop!!

Hi everyone!  Welcome to our Reason to Smile Blog Hop!

Read to the bottom for a chance to win a prize!!

In celebration of the July Stampin' Up! Special -
This awesomely cute stamp set called Reason to Smile -
a few Stampin' Up! demonstrators have gotten together to show you what you can do with this stamp set!

This Is available only for the month of July
for just $5 with a $50 purchase,

  • This card was made using the new In Colors for 2012-2014
  • The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple
  • The patterned paper is from one of the new designer Series Papers called Comfort Cafe'
  • The mat and tag are made from Summer Starfruit
  • Of course, the stamp set is Reason to Smile stamped in Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Crumb cake, and Summer Starfruit.
  • The ribbon used is Crumb Cake 3/8" Taffeta
  • The brad in the center of the bow is from the Antique Brads set
  • The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake stamp set

The really neat thing about this stamp set is that it is a "Two Step Stampin' set which means that it takes two steps to complete the image.

As you can see from the picture above, it looks like there are duplicate images.  One of each flower is a sort of blurred image and the other is a more crisp image.  What you will do to stamp the flowers as I did, is  choose two colors for each flower - one darker color, one lighter color.  First stamp the "blurred" image with your lighter shade.  Stamp over this with your darker shade of ink and the "crisper" flower image.  Below you can see the two toned stamping more clearly.

I chose to layer my stamps by just eyeing them.  If you would like more precise layering you can use our Stamp-a-ma-jig.

Stamp-A-Ma-Jig101049
Price$11.95
This is the perfect tool to keep you from ever ruining a whole project with one crooked image! The stamp positioner gives you the ability to place an image exactly where you want it, every time. Allows for fast and precise stamp placement.

■ Perfect for word and letter stamps
■ Sturdy plastic construction
■ Includes washable plastic sheet
■ Black color exclusive to Stampin’ Up!
■ Nonskid base
■ Includes instructions

Please visit these other great blogs to see how this stamp set was used
