Tea Shoppe Stamp Set

This card was made from the Tea Shoppe Stamp set and the Paisley Petals paper line.  The bottom was embossed with the small hearts embossing folder from the Textured Impressions Embossing Folders set.
The label was made with the Framelets Label Collection Die and the Sizzix machine.  The "steam" coming from the cup was made with one of the stamps in the Elements of Style Stamp set.  I cut out the tea cup and used my Stampin' Dimensionals to give it depth.

This card turned out really pretty.  I love the texture and the colors in this paper line!

Firm Foam Stampin' Pads

With the introduction of the 2012-2013 annual catalog, we have made a very big change to our Stampin' Pads.
Introducing firm foam pads! They change your stamping experience for the better.
We know you're going to love these new Stampin' Pads-just look at all the exciting benefits listed below:
  • Provide better ink coverage for your stamps!
  • Light-tap stamping produces flawless images!
In addition, our new Stampin' Pads
  • Create wonderfully solid images. The Firm Foam releases more ink onto your rubber stamp than the felt pads. When using the Firm Foam pad, your stamp will get an even, solid covering of ink that you may not have been able to achieve with the felt pads. Please note: if you are using the ink pad frequently you may need to re-ink your Firm Foam pad more often.
  • Have a crisply printed, glossy label on the top of the pad that is easier to read and that will not fade or chip off!
  • Come with color name labels in all four languages (English, Spanish, French, and German)--just choose your language, peel it off the back, and add it to the side of the pad for easy identification!
  • Use the same patented flip-top case design that stores the inking surface upside down, so the pad surface stays moist!
  • Are available in all colors, including our exclusive In Colors!

NEW FIRM FOAM PADS FAQS

Q: Why did we switch from felt pads to firm foam pads?
A: We have worked very hard to improve the functionality of our Classic Stampin' Pads. The firm foam allows for better ink coverage; plus it stays juicer and lasts longer.

Q: Do old Classic Stampin' Ink Refills work with the new firm foam pads?
A: Yes, with the exception of Basic Black, Basic Gray, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, and Tempting Turquoise, which have been reformulated to work with the new foam pad material. We do not recommend using old ink refills in these colors with the new firm foam pads.

Q: Will Stampin' Spots use the new firm foam pad?
A: No. Stampin' Spots will remain the same.

Q: Can I use the reformulated ink with my Stampin' Spots?
A: Yes.

I hope you are looking as forward to trying these as I am!

Enjoy!

Information About the New Catalog

Many customers have had questions after viewing the lengthy list of retiring products.  Some have noticed that all of our Classic Stamp Pads were listed!!  Rest assured that we will still be selling all of the colors of our ink pads, BUT they have been reconfigured and are better than ever!!

Some of your favorite items may be leaving or may be offered in new configurations.  For example, most of our Stampin' Write Markers will no longer be available for individual purchase.  They will only be available in sets.  If  you have been collecting them individually and only need a color or two to complete a set, I would suggest that you order them before they are unavailable. (and before they run out!)

Here is a quick overview of what will be happening with some of our products:
  • Classic Stamp Pads -    You may have noticed all of the Classic Stampin' Pads are listed as retiring.  This is because  all felt Classic Stampin’ Pads are being reconfigured and will be replaced with the new firm foam Classic Stampin’ Pads.  The same colors will be available.

  • Classic Stampin' Spots -  All of the current color collections are being discontinued.   Classic Stampin’ Spots will not be available once the existing supply runs out.   However, the Getting Started collection of Classic Stampin’ Spots will be available in the new annual catalog.

  • Craft Stampin' Spots -  All Craft Stampin' Spots are being discontinued with the exception of black and white.

  • Craft Ink Pads and Craft Ink Refills - All craft ink pads and refills are being discontinued and will no longer be available once existing stock is sold.

  • 12 x 12 Smooth Card Stock Once existing supply runs out, the only way to purchase some colors will be in a color collection assortment. However, a limited number of our most popular colors will still be available in individual packs.

  • 12 x 12 Textured Cardstock will no longer be available once the current stock is sold out.

  • Stampin' Write Markers -  Many of the Stampin' Write markers will no longer be available for individual purchase.  Once existing supply runs out, the only way to purchase some colors will be in a color collection assortment. However, a limited number of our most popular colors will still be available in individual packs.

  • The Heat Tool . Paper Piercing Tool, Paper Cutter, Stampin' Scrub, and the Naturals 12 x 12 Linen Album - All are being discontinued and a new ones will be offered begining June 1st.

I hope this helps to answer some of your questions.  And as always, you can give me a call or shoot me an email if you need anything!

Enjoy!

Springfest!

Today I took a little break from housework and stamping and spent the day in Ocean City, Maryland, at the Springfest.  Springfest is an annual tradition in Ocean City.  It is a craft fair with entertainment and food vendors.  The weather was beautiful, in the 80's with a nice breeze coming off the ocean.  Here are a few pictures that I took with my phone.

Another tradition that we have is to eat hard crabs at On The Bay Seafood before we head back home.  This is our favorite place in Ocean City for crabs.  We love the way they season their crabs and they are always hot and fresh out of the steamer!  Ummm Ummm.....just talking about them makes me want more!!  The restaurant is really cute too!  You sit outside on picnic tables, on a patio with a sand floor.  Palm trees blowing in the breeze and music by artists like Jimmy Buffett play while you enjoy your food completing that "at the beach" feeling.  On The Bay Seafood is located on 42nd Street and Coastal Highway. I hope that if you are ever in the area you will stop there to eat!

The perfect ending to a wonderful day!

Till next time,
Lori

Spotlight Stamping

Many people have written to ask how to do the technique that I used on the Mother's Day card - the one that had a layered image and only a portion was colored in.

I decided to make another card today, using the same technique and the same stamp, but a different pattern and color, and show you how to do it.

First I gathered my supplies.  I went with a pink theme this time.  These were papers from the Brights Paper Stack.

I made my card base by cutting an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of white card stock in half to get a piece 8 1/2 x 5 1/2.
I then folded this in half getting a card base of  4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

To make the first layer (I used the bright pink polka dot paper) I cut  a piece 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
I adhered this to my card front.

Next I cut a piece of solid light pink cardstock at 4 x 5 1/4
I adhered this to the top of the bright pink layer.

Once I had my layers together, I decided on the placement of my stamp.  I decided to place mine close to the bottom right corner so that I would have room to make a spotlight stamped tag to the left.

I stamped my image twice.  Once where I wanted it on the card front and once on a solid piece of white card stock.

I set my white paper on top of my pink paper, trying to place the images together.  This helped me to decide where I wanted to cut my tag from and how I wanted to arrange it.  I used my tag stencil to trace the area I wanted to cut out.

Once I had my tag cut out, I placed it on top of the card to make sure I like the position.  Everything was good, so I went ahead and stamped my sentiment and colored in my flowers.

After I was finished with the color, I adhered the tag to the card, carefully aligning it to the image that was stamped on the pink background.  I added some pearls and some ribbon.....and voila'!....the card is finished!!

I hope you will try this technique!

The Stamps used for this project were:  (neither one of these are retiring stamp sets)
#121958 Bring on the Cake
#120045 Elements of Style
